The DMRC consists of individual
companies interested in solving problems related to mining at depth
in Canada. It is structured to take proposals from any source and to
process these proposals through a rigorous approval system. Once
accepted by the Technical Committee, proposals are sent on to the
Management Committee with a recommendation for funding.
An interesting feature of the
Deep Mining Research Consortium is the non-industry support which
has been pledged by all three levels of government – municipal,
provincial and federal.
Eventually the website will
contain abstracts of the completed projects and access information
for readers both within the DMRC and in the wider audience.
